Interior Design

Warm, considered rooms built from honest materials.

Interiors are where daily life meets the building. We plan room layouts, storage and circulation around how people actually use a space, then choose finishes that age well under real wear: lime plaster, stone, timber, terrazzo and tile, each tested against light, humidity and use.

Our interior work ranges from family homes and guesthouses to shops, cafés and studios. For commercial spaces we pay close attention to lighting and display, so that products read clearly and the room remains comfortable for staff and visitors through a full working day.

Where a building already exists, we survey it first and design around what can be kept and repaired. Many of our interior projects are in older houses and shops, and the best results come from working with the bones of the building rather than covering them.

01

Brief and space audit

We record the existing space, its condition and the way it is used, and agree what the interior must achieve.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Both. Where standard pieces do not fit the room or the brief, we design built-in and loose furniture and have it made by local workshops. Where a catalogue piece works well, we recommend it and specify the finish.

We start with orientation and the size and position of openings, then use light finishes, lime plaster, stone floors and cross-ventilation in the room layout. Shaded windows, planting and ceiling fans reduce the cooling load further.

Yes. Many of our interior projects are in older houses and shops. We survey the building first, check the condition of walls and floors, and design around what can be kept and repaired.
