Urban Design & Planning
Public realm, precincts and streets that work for the people using them.
Good cities are built one street, one square and one riverfront at a time. Our urban work covers master plans, precinct plans and the public realm, with a focus on how people walk, sit, trade and gather. We treat the existing fabric as an asset to be understood before anything is proposed.
Projects begin with a context survey that records movement, building condition, flood lines, trees and the informal uses of public space. Those findings shape a small set of strategies that can be phased, costed and delivered by the bodies responsible for the area, rather than one large plan that waits for funding that may never arrive.
Community engagement runs through the whole process. Walks, open workshops and simple on-site models give residents and traders a real say in the outcome, and we report back on how their input changed the proposals.
The full range of our work.
- 01
Master planning
Land-use strategies, movement frameworks and phasing plans for neighbourhoods, campuses and town edges.
- 02
Precinct and public realm design
Streets, squares, markets and ghats designed for shade, seating, drainage and everyday use.
- 03
Riverfront and waterfront regeneration
Promenades, stepped edges and flood-tolerant planting that turn neglected water edges into public rooms.
- 04
Mobility and street design
Pedestrian routes, slow streets and managed deliveries that reduce congestion and dust in dense areas.
- 05
Flood-resilient and green infrastructure
Surface drainage, recharge pools and planting zones that work with seasonal rain rather than against it.
- 06
Community engagement
Walks, workshops and on-site models that bring residents and traders into the planning process.

01
Context survey
Movement, land use, building condition, flood lines and public life are mapped and checked on foot.
